I made Max and Juno a dog four years ago but he's been getting decidedly frail in recent years, so I decided to start from scratch and make him again, using a hopefully more robust joint system. There were a few problems along the way, but as ever, I documented them all! XD

If you've always fancied making your own dog, this guide may or may not help! Laughing Very Happy

Excellent work. I see that Max and Juno are very pleased with him. I hope his hairs don't ruin the horses they're working on.

Baxter Deux looks awesome. How cool that he got an upgrade. And excellent job on the joints.

Yay!! This is excellent! Smile It's so generous of you to share your techniques with us! And Baxter's upgrade looks great. If only I could give my sweet old girl an 'upgrade' in real life... :'(

Wouldn't it be the same if you had a real dog in there? I shudder to think what might happen to your collection if you did...

lol! Indeed quite the dedication to realism, making the modeldog shed its hair.

Ah beautiful work, and that completely from scratch. From the length and way the hair falls up to the furry bits shed in the house. Razz Might take another 10 to 20 years until the industry will make something like this.

Thank you! Unfortunately over time the joints that link to the spine part have got loose so he’s not quite as poseable as he was - I think there’ll definitely need to be a Baxter 3.0 at some point! 🙈

Aww, that’s a bummer to hear he’s not holding up.
